Verizon One for Student Apartments: Check the Full Cost

Verizon One combines a mobile line with eligible home internet. Check your apartment address, included services and conditions before comparing costs.

Checked against official pages on October 26, 2026. Rules move; when this one does, it goes on the changelog.

Check your lease before comparing Verizon One. If internet is already included and cannot be removed, compare mobile-only costs first. If you need a separate connection, check the apartment address, your phone's built-in eSIM support, and the full mobile-plus-internet bill. The phone switch cost calculator has an "Included in rent or campus fees" choice. That choice adds no separate internet bill and no canceled-bill savings.

Account type: Verizon One is a postpaid mobile and home internet bundle for customers new to both Verizon mobile and Verizon home services. It is not a mobile-only plan, not Verizon Prepaid, and not a data eSIM. The Verizon One FAQ requires a BYOD phone with a built-in eSIM and says the One mobile line cannot buy or finance a device upgrade.

Are you eligible for Verizon One?

Check What the One FAQ says What to do if it does not fit
Are you new to both Verizon mobile and home services? Only customers new to both can sign up. The broader page says new customer, but the specific answer is both services. Existing mobile-only or home-only customers need a different plan
Does the address support Fios, 5G Home Plus, or Home Internet Lite Extra? The customer must be in an area that supports one of those services. Availability is address-specific. Check another address or compare a separate internet provider
Do you have a BYOD phone with a built-in eSIM? Enrollment requires bringing your own mobile device. All BYOD phones activated on One must have a built-in eSIM. Use a different compatible phone or a different plan
Do you need a new phone or device financing? The One mobile line is not eligible to purchase or finance a device upgrade. One is not the route for a new phone; compare a mobile-only plan and a device offer separately
Can you meet the Auto Pay condition? $70 a month with Auto Pay and paper-free billing; $80 without. The $10 discount requires enrollment within 30 days. Qualifying methods are a checking or savings account, a Verizon Visa Card, or a Verizon Business Mastercard. If you only have a foreign card, confirm acceptance before ordering; budget $80 until the discount is approved
Does the student discount apply? The student page advertises 10% off select Unlimited mobile plans and Fios home internet. The One FAQ says One cannot combine with most discounts, including Mobile and Home. Do not subtract 10% from the One price without written confirmation
Do you need more hotspot or a different data profile? The mobile line has unlimited on-device data, 500GB before speeds drop to 4 Mbps, and a 10GB hotspot before speeds drop to 1 Mbps. Compare a mobile-only plan if your hotspot use is higher

The One FAQ is the product-specific source. The marketing page and the FAQ do not use identical wording for every condition, so the conflict section below lists what to confirm at order. This page does not collect a home address, account number, or identity document; check the address with Verizon.

What do $70 and $80 include?

Sources for this table: Verizon One page, Verizon One FAQs, and Verizon home internet, read on October 26, 2026. They do not print an offer end date.

Item What the official pages say
Price with Auto Pay $70 a month; the page says the price includes all taxes and fees
Price without Auto Pay $80 a month
Auto Pay discount condition $10 a month Auto Pay and paper-free billing discount; enrollment within 30 days; qualifying payment methods are checking or savings, Verizon Visa Card, or Verizon Business Mastercard
Discount timing The discount appears within 1 to 2 billing cycles; the pages do not clearly say whether the undiscounted $80 is charged in the interim
Mobile line 1 line with unlimited on-device 5G and 4G data; after 500GB in a billing cycle, speeds drop to 4 Mbps; 720p streaming; Mexico and Canada roaming with 2GB a day before 3G speeds; unlimited texting to 200 or more countries
Hotspot 10GB combined allowance, then 1 Mbps for the rest of the billing cycle
Home internet Fios 500/500 Mbps, 5G Home Plus up to 150 Mbps, or Verizon Home Internet Lite Extra up to 25 Mbps with reduced speeds after 200GB a month, depending on the address
Router and installation The One page says router and installation are included; the FAQ says Verizon owns the equipment provided
Additional mobile lines The One page says $30 a month per line. The FAQ says all additional lines use the Simplicity plan but does not print the price. Confirm the line price in the order summary.
Speed upgrade Fios Speed Boost is $15, $25, or $35 a month for 1, 2, or 5 Gig; it is unavailable on 5G Home Plus and Home Internet Lite Extra. The marketing page says as low as $15 more.
Equipment return The equipment belongs to Verizon. Return it undamaged within 30 days after cancellation, or an unreturned equipment fee of up to $300 per unit may apply.
Discounts and perks The FAQ says the plan cannot combine with most other discounts, including the Mobile and Home Discount; Auto Pay and Verizon Dollars are exceptions. It also says perks are not available.
Billing One bill; charges appear as one item on the wireless bill. The FAQ says billing starts when the order is submitted, but another answer says the first bill is based on activation day.

If the services are separated, the FAQ says taxes and fees are calculated and billed separately. The included tax and equipment language applies to the combined plan, not to every later change.

Does the apartment need internet?

Housing situation What to compare What changes
The rent includes internet and the charge cannot be removed A mobile-only plan. Do not count the rent's internet as money you can save. You would pay for a second connection. Check the lease speed, equipment fee, and who supports it.
The rent includes internet but the landlord will remove the charge Treat the apartment as needing internet, with the lease change in writing Compare One with a mobile-only plan plus a separate internet plan
The rent does not include internet Verizon One against a mobile-only plan plus a separate internet plan Check the address, the BYOD eSIM requirement, and the full monthly bill
Campus housing The housing contract's internet terms, then a mobile-only plan if the contract covers the room Campus Wi-Fi is not an in-unit home internet subscription. One needs a supported home service at the address.
A shared apartment The account owner, the number of mobile lines, and the roommates' split One bill, one account owner, and one line count. A private split does not create separate Verizon plans.
A move during the lease The new address's eligibility, equipment, and installation The service type or price may change; recheck before you move

If the apartment already has internet and the charge cannot be removed, the useful comparison is a mobile-only plan. If you need a separate connection, compare the same line count on both sides.

What does the full bill look like for one to four lines?

Mobile lines With Auto Pay Without Auto Pay, first line $80 Equal split with Auto Pay What the figures assume
1 $70 $80 $70 Auto Pay, a new customer to both services, and an eligible address
2 $100 $110 $50 The $70 bundle plus one $30 line
3 $130 $140 $43.33 The $70 bundle plus two $30 lines
4 $160 $170 $40 The $70 bundle plus three $30 lines

Every row assumes Auto Pay for the $70 column and the equal split. Without Auto Pay, the first line is $80 and the total rises by $10; the without-Auto-Pay column assumes the $30 add-on price stays the same. This is arithmetic from the One page's $30 per additional line, not a quote. The FAQ says additional lines use Simplicity but does not repeat the $30 figure, so confirm the line price in the order summary.

The equal split is a roommate agreement, not a Verizon plan. Verizon's Customer Agreement says the Account Owner is ultimately financially liable for the account, and the owner remains responsible for changes an Account Manager makes. A roommate moving out does not change the carrier contract. Keep the account owner, payment date, and handoff plan in writing, and do not share the account password or PIN.

Bundle or separate: which is lower?

Use the same line count and the same needs on both sides. Fill in your own monthly figures.

Input What to enter Teaching example, inputs only
S: mobile lines separately The sum of the mobile lines you would buy, including the taxes and fees those lines charge $40 + $40 = $80
H: home internet separately The standalone internet monthly charge, including its equipment or fees $50
A: separate total S + H $130
B: One total The One arithmetic for the same number of lines 2 lines = $100
A minus B Positive means One is lower for these inputs; negative means separate is lower $30
One-time and exit costs Activation, installation, equipment, device payments, and old-service exit fees Add only the amounts you can document

The teaching example is not a Verizon or internet-provider quote. It only shows the arithmetic. If S or H is unknown, write unverified instead of zero. If Auto Pay is not approved, use the $80 first-line price or leave the comparison unverified. Do not subtract device credits, future cash back, or Verizon Dollars from the cash bill. Do not count taxes twice.

If the rent includes internet and cannot be reduced, H is not a bill you can remove. Compare a mobile-only plan instead of pretending the rent's internet is a saving. If the two sides do not provide comparable speeds, equipment, or data, the price difference is not a complete answer.

What happens when you move, cancel, or a roommate leaves?

Situation Official direction What changes What to save or confirm
Mobile, but not home internet Contact Verizon to change to a standard premium mobile plan You lose the combined One pricing; taxes and fees are billed separately The new mobile plan, its price, the equipment return, and the final One bill
Home internet, but not mobile Canceling mobile ends the One bundle. The FAQ says you cannot keep the home internet as a standalone plan. You must disconnect and reapply for new home internet The new internet application, installation, equipment, and price
The same plan at a new address Check the new address's Fios, 5G Home Plus, or Home Internet Lite Extra availability The service type, speed, equipment, and price may change The new order summary and the equipment return or move instructions
Cancel the whole bundle or port the number out The unused portion of the month is prorated and refunded; a port-out is treated as a cancellation The number is not held after the port; the bundle ends The final bill, the number port record, and the equipment return within 30 days
A roommate leaves and the line count drops The account owner must change the account; the remaining lines may no longer match the original bundle The monthly total and the per-person split change; a line removal can change the bundle price The new line count, the new bill, and the remaining roommates' agreement
Account holder and payment date The Account Owner is ultimately liable; an Account Manager's changes bind the owner The named owner and payment date do not change just because roommates split the bill privately The account owner, payment date, and written handoff plan
Service stop or disconnection date Confirm the date with Verizon; a port-out is treated as a cancellation and the number is not held The final bill, equipment return, and number port all depend on that date The confirmed stop date, final bill, port record, and equipment return receipt
A summer or short break The pages we read do not describe a summer hold or a reduced seasonal price for One Do not assume the plan or the number is held automatically Ask Verizon before changing the account; keep the number port rules separate

Changing the One plan while keeping the offer is not available on the FAQ. Reverting to an older mobile plan may be possible, but the signup promotions or guarantees are lost. Keep the order confirmation and the equipment return receipt.

What conflicts should you confirm at order?

Conflict What the pages say What to confirm
New customer The marketing page says new customer; the FAQ says new to both mobile and home services Whether your account history meets the both-services rule
Billing start The FAQ says billing starts when the order is submitted; another answer says the first bill is based on activation day Which date the first bill uses, and whether the $80 interim charge applies
Speed upgrade The marketing page says as low as $15 more; the FAQ lists $15, $25, or $35 for Fios 1, 2, or 5 Gig and says the option is unavailable on 5G Home and Lite Extra. The FAQ also says the option cannot be changed after purchase, but describes canceling and a 48 to 72 hour service gap. The exact service, speed, price, and change window at your address
Additional line price The marketing page says $30 a month per line; the FAQ says additional lines use Simplicity but does not print the price The per-line price on the order summary
Student discount The student page offers 10% for eligible U.S. post-secondary students on select Unlimited mobile plans and Fios, up to four years, and says it can combine with the Mobile and Home Discount. The One FAQ says One cannot combine with most discounts, including Mobile and Home. Whether the student discount applies to One at all, and how it stacks
Perks The FAQ says perks are not available, but the page also has a perk-management answer Whether any current order shows a perk
