Affiliate Disclosure

Still Reachable participates in affiliate programs. This page explains what that means, how affiliate links work, and how we disclose them, in accordance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's Endorsement Guides (16 C.F.R. § 255) and equivalent disclosure standards in other jurisdictions.

1. What "affiliate" means here

An affiliate link is a link to a third-party product or service that, if you click and then make a purchase, may pay us a small commission. The price you pay is the same whether or not you use our link. The commission comes out of the merchant's side of the transaction, not yours.

We use affiliate links to help cover the cost of running the Site (hosting, tools, research time). They do not influence which products we recommend.

2. Programs we participate in

Still Reachable is a member of CJ Affiliate. The CJ programs on the site today are Infimobile, operated by InfiCloud Inc., and Verizon One, a mobile and home internet bundle from Verizon. The Infimobile earn link is on the Infimobile prepaid page. The Verizon One earn link is on Verizon One for student apartments, in the paragraph that says a commission may be earned. Links to infimobile.com and verizon.com on those pages are citations, not earn links.

Saily is linked once, on the SIM or eSIM page, in the line that says Check Saily plans. The words "A Saily data eSIM" in the table on that page are not a link.

NordVPN (Nord Security) is a 160 by 600 advertisement beside the article. It uses the general NordVPN offer the network numbered 15, with publisher id 158797. On a wide screen it stays in place while the article scrolls. The unit is labeled Advertisement. Under the image it says a VPN can protect a connection while traveling, and that it does not provide a phone number or fix SMS delivery, then a sponsored-link sentence. A screen that is too narrow to fit the image beside the article does not show it. The home page, the three section hubs (Keep number abroad, Bank OTP abroad, US phone plans), About, Privacy, Terms, this page, Editorial Policy, and DMCA do not show it.

After Accept all, and only when the browser is not sending Global Privacy Control, pages that show the advertisement also request a hidden image from NordVPN's tracking host, so the network can count the display. Rejecting non-essential cookies skips that image. The advertisement stays visible either way. Clicking it leaves this Site. The display request does not include a phone number, a bank name, a search query, or form text.

3. How we choose what to recommend

Our editorial recommendations are based on:

  • Independent research (manufacturer specs, expert sources, peer-reviewed publications where relevant)
  • Published plan terms, coverage data and regulator documents, checked on a stated date (we do not test devices or measure network speeds, and we say so)
  • Reading and synthesizing reviews from multiple credible sources
  • Comparing options against published, transparent criteria

A product's affiliate-commission rate does not affect whether or how we recommend it. We do not accept payment from merchants to write a positive review.

If we receive a free product sample for testing, that is disclosed in the specific article.

4. How affiliate links appear in our content

We disclose the use of affiliate links:

  • On this page, in plain language
  • In the paragraph with the link, before the link, and after the page has stated the terms the reader needs
  • Where possible, on the link itself, by labeling specific links as affiliate links or by using a styling convention disclosed in the article
  • Beside the article on a wide screen, for the NordVPN advertisement: the word Advertisement and a commission sentence sit with the image

We do not hide or disguise affiliate links as if they were independent editorial references.

5. What we don't do

  • We do not accept payment for placing a product in a "best of" list.
  • We do not write reviews of products we have not researched in good faith.
  • We do not publish negative reviews of competitors of an affiliate partner in exchange for payment.
  • We do not click-bait or use deceptive headlines to drive affiliate clicks.

If you ever believe an article violates these standards, email [email protected] and we will investigate and, where warranted, correct or retract.

When you click an affiliate link, you leave our Site and the destination merchant takes over. The merchant may set cookies and use its own analytics to attribute the click. The Infimobile prepaid page also requests a 1x1 image from CJ when that page loads. The Verizon One page uses a text affiliate link only; no 1x1 image was added there. The NordVPN display image loads only after Accept all, and does not load when non-essential cookies are rejected or the browser sends Global Privacy Control. We do not receive your name, email address, or specific purchase details, only aggregated, non-identifying data about clicks and conversions through our partner dashboard.
